Hi friends! I hope you all had the most wonderful Thanksgiving! There is nothing I enjoy more than time with family; it's just the best..
As we enter the last few weeks before Christmas I'm excited to show you the remaining One A Week DIY Christmas decorations! If you missed the previous few, you can check them out here, here and here. Today's is quick and easy - make a holiday sign!
For this project, I simply turned over a piece of canvas that I had used to paint a custom piece of art for our home.
I used Minwax 'Ebony' wood stain along the back of the frame to warm it up.
Then, I placed my letter stencils, (found at Michaels and used for countless projects), where I wanted my words to go. This took a few minutes because I wanted to line everything up so it looked straight.
Using a 1.5" paintbrush I dabbed the paint over the stencils. Don't dip the brush into the paint completely. If you want your sign to have a bit of a vintage feel you don't want the paint to be too thick. And it's okay if some letters are more covered than others - that just gives it character!
Done!
Happy decorating! If you try any of the One A Week projects I would love to see! Feel free to email me pictures to chelseasgarage@gmail.com.
Thank you for reading!
